RSI (Relative Strength Index)

RSI is a momentum oscillator that measures the speed and magnitude of price movements on a scale of 0 to 100. It helps identify potential reversal points when an asset is oversold or overbought.

≤ 30
Oversold Zone

Asset may be undervalued. Potential buying opportunity, but confirm with other indicators.

30 - 70
Neutral Zone

Normal trading range. No strong buy or sell signals from RSI alone.

≥ 70
Overbought Zone

Asset may be overvalued. Potential selling opportunity or trend reversal coming.

How RSI is Calculated

RSI uses the average gains and losses over 14 periods (candles) to calculate momentum. We use Wilder's smoothing method for more accurate results.

RSI = 100 - (100 / (1 + RS))
where RS = Average Gain / Average Loss

CVD (Cumulative Volume Delta)

CVD shows the net buying vs selling pressure over the last 14 candles, displayed as a 14-bar history chart. It measures the difference between aggressive buyers (market buy orders) and sellers (market sell orders). Green bars indicate buying pressure, red bars show selling pressure.

CVD Positive (+)

More market buy orders

Indicates bullish pressure. Aggressive buyers are entering the market, pushing prices up.

CVD Negative (-)

More market sell orders

Indicates bearish pressure. Aggressive sellers are exiting the market, pushing prices down.

14-Bar History Chart

The 14-bar chart visualizes CVD trend over time - green bars above the center line show net buying, red bars below show net selling.

Why Our CVD is More Accurate

Other platforms (like TradingView) often use a simplified approach: green candle = buying, red candle = selling. This is inaccurate!

RSI Monitor uses actual taker order flow data from Binance, giving you the real buying/selling pressure.

Real Example:

A green candle (price went up) might actually have more selling pressure!

TradingView says: +1.3M buying
Actual taker data: -112K (more sells)

What is a "Taker"?

In trading, every trade has two sides: a maker and a taker. Understanding this helps you interpret CVD data correctly.

Maker (Passive)

  • Places limit orders that sit in the order book
  • "Makes" liquidity by adding orders
  • Waits for someone else to match their order
  • Example: "I want to buy BTC at $90,000" (order waits)

Taker (Aggressive)

  • Places market orders that execute immediately
  • "Takes" liquidity from the order book
  • Matches against existing limit orders
  • Example: "Buy BTC now at any price!" (instant)

Why Takers Show True Market Sentiment

Takers are aggressive traders who want immediate execution. When taker buy volume exceeds taker sell volume, it shows real bullish sentiment - people are willing to pay the ask price to get in NOW.

Timeframes Explained

RSI Monitor tracks three timeframes to give you both short-term and long-term perspectives.

1H
Hourly

Short-term momentum. Good for day trading and catching quick reversals. More signals, but also more noise.

4H
4-Hour

Medium-term momentum. Balances signal quality with frequency. Popular for swing trading.

1D
Daily

Long-term momentum. Fewer but more significant signals. Best for position trading and major trend changes.

Pro Tip: Multi-Timeframe Analysis

The most reliable signals occur when multiple timeframes align. For example, if 1H, 4H, and 1D are all oversold, it's a stronger signal than just one timeframe.
